I like his series of architecture/cloud paintings very much. This combination of minimalist, bold shapes, and his great sense of color choices make them very engaging.
I also like how there is an element of brash texture there. Many artists might try to attempt to make these very smooth and glossy given the space/scifi underpinning topically.
They remind mer of the movie " Fantastic Planet" with it's spare aestetics and barren spaces. They are all very intriguing and Piet draws a lot out for the viewer, with just a couple of hard and soft shapes and excellent palette.
There's something too that is zen and soothing about them. Though some could interpret a dystopian, barren element in them, or a subtle environmental message.
